YOUR CARE, CONSIDERED

Practical nutrition should work with your preferences, routine and health needs. The aim is a balanced pattern of eating that you can understand and use in everyday life.

01

Protein and maintaining lean mass

Protein-containing foods include beans, lentils, eggs, fish, meat and dairy or suitable alternatives. Maintaining muscle during weight management also involves appropriate strengthening activity. Discuss your individual needs rather than following a universal protein target.

02

Fibre and food variety

Wholegrains, pulses, vegetables and fruit can contribute fibre and variety. A balanced diet is about the pattern over time; every meal does not need to be perfect.

03

Hydration

Drink regularly through the day. Water, milk and unsweetened drinks can contribute to fluid intake. If you have been given a fluid restriction or other medical advice, follow your individual plan.

04

Practical nutrition alongside treatment

Discuss how appetite, routines and food choices fit with your agreed treatment plan. If eating or drinking becomes difficult, raise this with your clinician rather than making unsupported changes.

05

Making it work in real life

Meal planning, accessible ingredients and culturally familiar foods can make advice easier to use. Specialist dietary or medical needs may require a registered dietitian or another appropriate clinician.

BEFORE YOU DECIDE

Clarity comes first.

Ask about service availability, consultation arrangements and fees before taking the next step. An enquiry does not confirm a booking or suitability for any treatment.
