YOUR CARE, CONSIDERED

Changes in your hair can have different explanations. Understanding the pattern and possible cause comes before deciding whether treatment is appropriate.

01

Start with an assessment

Discuss when the change began, whether it is gradual or sudden, and any scalp symptoms or recent changes in health. If you are worried about hair loss, see a GP to help identify the cause before considering a commercial hair service.

02

Understanding common presentations

Hair may gradually thin, shed more than usual or develop areas of loss. Inherited pattern hair loss is one possible explanation. Illness, stress, weight loss and iron deficiency can also be associated with temporary shedding.

03

Options depend on the cause

Some hair loss resolves without treatment. Where support is appropriate, options may include addressing an underlying cause, suitable scalp-applied treatments or referral for specialist advice. No treatment works for everyone, and suitability needs individual assessment.

04

Monitoring over time

Agree how progress, tolerability and any concerns will be reviewed. Hair changes take time to assess; avoid interpreting a single photograph as proof that a treatment has worked.

BEFORE YOU DECIDE

Clarity comes first.

Ask about service availability, consultation arrangements and fees before taking the next step. An enquiry does not confirm a booking or suitability for any treatment.
